HIGH-FLOW CANNULA - Adult

The BesMed Hi-Flow Cannula is a dedicated patient interface engineered for heated, humidified High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy in premature neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. It features soft, pliable, and anatomically angled nasal prongs that rest comfortably inside the nostrils without completely occluding the nares, allowing natural ambient entrainment and dynamic expiration around the prongs while generating gentle positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). The cannula is built with kink-resistant, ultra-flexible lightweight tubing that reduces pull and tension on delicate facial skin, while the skin-friendly hydrocolloid or adhesive cheek pads provide secure, irritation-free placement. By delivering conditioned, warm, fully saturated oxygen-air blends at high velocities, it effectively flushes anatomical nasopharyngeal dead space, optimizes oxygenation, and supports respiratory mechanics without the skin breakdown often associated with tight-fitting CPAP masks.
