The BesMed Neonatal Mask is a specialized, single-patient non-invasive ventilation (NIV) interface designed to deliver gentle, leak-free positive airway pressure therapy to neonates, preterm babies, and infants suffering from Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) or transient tachypnea. Molded from medical-grade, ultra-pliable liquid silicone, the mask features an anatomical, low-profile nasal cushion that seals evenly across the nasal bridge and philtrum at minimal strap tension. This soft seal dramatically reduces contact pressure over delicate infant facial structures, offering an effective alternative to nasal prongs to prevent nasal septal necrosis, mucosal irritation, and columellar breakdown. Its low internal dead-space chamber prevents carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) rebreathing and ventilation-perfusion mismatching. Fitted with universal connection ports compatible with standard neonatal CPAP circuits and mini-flow generators, this mask ensures stable therapeutic pressure delivery, clear patient airway visibility, and maximum comfort during prolonged NIV management.
